OUR MISSION
In pursuit of
high-quality, high-performing
lightweight materials for
everyday applications that
are cost-effective and
environmentally sustainable.
From the waste stream . . .

to downstream product applications,

Qbic's advanced materials are
designed for the circular economy.
Made with a minimum 70% up to a whopping 100% post-consumer recycled content, our materials use recycled PET bottles as the primary raw material.

TECHNOLOGY
Qbic's proprietary technology creates billions of tiny bubbles inside PET — the world's most recycled plastic — to create lightweight recyclable QbicPET products of superior quality and performance. Containing as low as 25% up to 60% less plastic, our products are odorless and non-toxic and boast zero VOCs. Additionally, our advanced manufacturing process creates products with the lowest embodied carbon for demanding applications in multiple industries.

Our technology is unique.
We can engineer and optimize the material’s microstructure in order to meet product-specific requirements.
Imagine a mono-plastic film that behaves like a multilayer composite whereby regions of the plastic are imbued with special properties and unique features that contribute to the application as a whole.
How about a glossy surface finish with an optimized microstructure that replaces applications using solid plastic. Alternatively, consider a matte finish film adapted for use in paper equipment for high-end, high-resolution printing.

PRODUCTS

Available in lightweight rigid film, rigid corrugated film and expanded bead formats
QbicPET products are a higher performing, lower cost, lower carbon alternative to other competing materials in the market. Durable and strong, yet lightweight and insulating, QbicPET is suitable for a wide range of applications in building materials, printing, and packaging.
How can QbicPET products benefit you?
QbicPET not only has the superior properties of the PET polymer, known as polyethylene terephthalate, but with our technology it can be adapted and optimized to impart qualities and characteristics that are not only vital to your business needs and applications, but are environmentally sustainable.
Let us count the ways . . .

1. Overall High Performance
Per unit weight, QbicPET delivers a versatile balance of superior quality, performance, aesthetics and affordability.

2. Compressive Strength
Withstand permanent deformation under heavier loads, QbicPET can achieve up to 6x higher compression strength than the competition.

3. Thermal Insulation
Regulate temperature, enhance comfort and reduce energy use, Qbic products can get up to 2x more thermal insulation than the competition.

4. Tear Resistance
Maintain structural integrity for ease of installation and durability, Qbic products are exceptionally resistant to tears and cracks due to their remarkable fracture toughness.

5. Zero Volatile Organic Compounds
Improved indoor breathing air quality as QbicPET boasts zero VOCs and is odorless and non-toxic.

6. Barrier Properties
A liquid-proof, grease-proof and solvent-resistant shield due to the unique profile of our advanced materials — a closed-cell structure with integral skins.

7. Lightweight
QbicPET rigid films are significantly lower in weight with a lower carbon footprint than comparable substrates, including paperboard, solid PET, HIPS, PP, and PVC rigid films.

8. Enhanced Value
The tunable expanded structure of QbicPET enhances the value of applications that require a lightweight material of superior performance, appearance, and quality.

9. Smooth Surface
Smooth even surface, QbicPET is ideal for applications requiring a flat uniform substrate. No delamination, blistering, swelling or warping.

10. Superior Print Quality
A naturally bright white substrate that produces high-resolution images in vibrant colors.

11. Lowest Embodied Carbon
Lower environmental impact as QbicPET products have the lowest embodied carbon due to less material use, higher % of post-consumer recycled content and a benign manufacturing process.

12. Recycled & Recyclable for a Circular Economy
At least 70% post-consumer recycled content from recycled PET bottles as the primary raw material, QbicPET is recyclable as PET #1.

BUILDING MATERIALS
For applications within walls, floors, and ceiling. Reduced embodied carbon is achieved in the lifecycle of Qbic's building products by upcycling waste materials and extending their useful life in long-term building applications.
